An amazing museum housing the enormous collection of a very wealthy person with lots of passionate interests (family-owned mega corporation that dominates Turkish industry). It's very well laid out and full of interactive exhibits, cutaways, dioramas (including a whole "street" of old Istanbul shops, from smithy and fisherman's to drugstore, cobbler's, olive oil factory, etc., or a mini-exhibition of "how it works" for kids). Plaques in English are VERY informative and comprehensive, if you read, you'll understand why the exhibit is interesting and meaningful, tons of learning there. Almost unlimited resources and enthusiasm of the founder mean that there's lots of very rare, significant, and unique exhibits that are also touchable and even fully accessible (like a Mussolini era art deco railcar, a London double decker bus, and a DC-3 airliner). Also, other rich Turkish "nerds" contributed their entire collections to the museum, like the huge railway models exhibit, or an exquisite steam machines collection, or a collection of rare Rolls-Royces and Cadillacs. It has entire ships (including the historic Fenerbahce ferry with a toy museum inside, or a genuine picket boat from HMS Hood), giant marine engines that work with a push of a button, and a whole building full of models that would make a scale modeller swoon. A large and very curated car collection (think Jay Leno), a rich Turkish boat history hall, a large motorcycles hall, a collcection of luxury motor boats, etc., etc. Impossible to see all in one day, but you can use an entire day to see the free exhibits on the outside (inc. a whole museum of a B-17 bomber recovered from the sea). Very good for kids, and lots of them were there.

We spent about 4 hours here with the child, as if in one breath. I liked it more than in Sofia and other attractions. We saw it by chance when we were sailing on a ship, stopped and went into the museum. A huge territory, several locations on different topics, interactive expositions, static, layouts. This museum is the best investment of your lira in tickets in terms of price and quality or price and experience. But the most interesting exhibits are the Ford Anglia from "Harry Potter" and the Fiat 124 (Papa of our Zhiguli) in the style of the "Knight of the Roads" from the Turkish advertisement. In addition to cars, the museum has a collection of motorcycles and boats, as well as the remains of a downed American B-24 Liberator bomber and a passenger DC-3. You can climb up the ladder to inspect the cabin and interior (unfortunately, the toilet was closed). The museum also has a separate building dedicated to trains and agricultural machinery. It can take a long time to list all the expositions, but the museum will definitely be interesting for people of different ages. Be sure to go!

The most elegant museum of polytechnic orientation, thought out to the smallest detail. There are a huge number of interesting and largely interactive exhibits. And if you come to Istanbul with children (especially boys), then it would be an unforgivable mistake not to come here. Definitely worth the money (July 2025 adult ticket 900 lira). The museum is very rich in exhibits, it took me almost 2.5 hours to explore everything; I didn't have time to see the left wing of the building, which is across the street from the main part, before closing. But I'm already so tired that I don't have the energy to get upset. I have a lot of impressions, I would love to visit again in the future. Some exhibits can be climbed: Nostalgie plane, Fenerbahçe ship, doubledacker and others. The car room is breathtaking, the smell is awesome - leather, oil and polish. Where docks and ships are shown, there is a reconstruction of a street with shops of a pharmacist, a shoemaker, a toy manufacturer and others. They also have authentic smells, especially in the pharmacy: it smells of herbs and some kind of drugs. There is a room with different puzzles and physical experiments, it is very interesting. Both adults and children quickly find entertainment for themselves.

I really liked the museum! We spent several hours there until closing time and really regretted that we didn't come earlier! There are a huge number of exhibits that I would like to examine in detail. Lots of halls! What's not there! Even if you are not a boy/man, far from DIY, needlework and collecting, technology and transport in general, you simply will not be able to remain indifferent! It's such a gorgeous display. And everyone will find something for themselves. I was particularly impressed by the workshops, as well as the pharmacy, shops and everything that is so well thought out and magically equipped. It's not a museum, it's some kind of fairy tale. At the time of November 7, the ticket cost 900 lira (1800 ₽). Union pay is not accepted at the box office, it was paid in cash. And every ruble spent is really worth it! We were greatly impressed by the visit! I highly recommend it to everyone!!!

Sooooo interesting. A bright spot in the sights of Istanbul. I definitely recommend it, especially to the male audience, but it was interesting for me too. We thought we'd go in for half an hour, but we wandered for two. I liked this place so much. The museum consists of two buildings located across the street from each other. The collection is huge! I spent more than two hours there, and I could still walk. This is the best museum I've visited, instead of an empty space with paintings, everything is filled with cars, yachts, boats, machinery, wagons and many more. A really worthwhile place to visit, and by the way, not a typical tourist destination. It's just 10 out of 5. An amazing museum! The price is more affordable, several times less than that of historical palaces and cisterns (900 lire per adult ticket). There are also much fewer people than at the promoted attractions. Everything is impressive - the collection, the scale, the design.
