After watching the 2026 World Cup final, I wanted to share my memories of what it was like there... However, it was in 2019 -) But, nevertheless, I think it didn't get any worse there -)) I was on MetLife at a Rolling Stones concert. And, I must say, even for such a big city as New York, a rolling concert is an event. For example, at that time there were a lot of people in the center wearing T-shirts with their tongues hanging out, and when they saw such T-shirts, they greeted strangers as if they were relatives -) But still, about the stadium. It's relatively close to New York City - we probably drove from Manhattan for about an hour. The stadium is huge, but all the logistics of the concert were thought out to the smallest detail. Well, almost all of it - more on that later. There are many entrances, wristbands for each type of ticket, and lots and lots of merch kiosks. There were many, many outlets selling snacks, beer, and even strong alcohol in small bottles. There were still queues at the merch outlets, even though the prices were quite high. However, the cashiers worked great, like on an assembly line. The stadium itself, of course, had a stage with huge screens and some crazy sound (with cameramen sitting near the speakers), but what we probably all go to live concerts for is an unforgettable atmosphere, when tens of thousands of strangers are united by something positive. something kind, something eternal, I'm sorry for the pathos. And there were guys in their twenties and Jagger's peers (some of them were wearing T-shirts from concerts in the 90s and even the 80s!). On Porsches, on bikes, from the VIP sector for five thousand dollars and from the "cheap" dance floor for two hundred. Stern bearded bikers, drunk women of Balzac's age, IT millionaires and a simple Russian boy -) All together. Someone had a picnic before the show, someone was smoking, I won't say what (and these were dudes in their seventies). Someone was just enjoying the atmosphere. What can I say about the show itself?.. I still remember him, regularly reviewing long videos (I'm not going to post them here - it's not a fact that they will pass and whether there is any point at all). It was unforgettable. The line-up is also classic, featuring the late Charlie Watts, the legendary drummer of the Rolling Stones. And Mick... I think he'll always be a teenager, no matter how old he is. I'll get back to organizing the show. Of course, the organizers did their best, but getting 50 thousand people out of the stadium at the same time is an unrealistic task. We decided not to even try to take a taxi and took the subway. The cars were packed to capacity, but the trains were moving like in the Moscow Metro - one by one. So even these crowds were organized by the organizers as well as possible. And now, when I watched the World Cup final, I remembered that great concert, that wonderful stadium, and... of course, I dreamed of returning here one day. Even for a sports show, even for a music show. And if you're in New York and at least someone is performing here, be sure to go -) You'll like it.
