This place is not only a tourist attraction but also a place where during the great patriotic war the POWs were kept. Thank you guys for the history lesson, there's a room devoted to that horrible time. It was rebuilt just recently and it's very well organised, recommended.

I was a little confused by the reconstruction of the walls with new modern bricks, but it turned out that all the walls were preserved. The guide has colorful costumes! An interesting tour! Friendly administrators in each hall will tell you everything and show you where to go next! Thanks! I was surprised by the pleasant price, as it was the last Wednesday of the month! There is a good bookstore on site! And a colorful tavern, but you need to book in advance! We walked to the grill bar, it's right in the parking lot, near the castle! Delicious draught and bottled Lida beer! Very tasty!

Lida Castle in the classical sense is a fortress and it has successfully performed its defensive function for several centuries. Thick and tall walls of a quadrangle with two towers (Gelemina and Dozornaya)diagonally. What you can see today is almost a complete renovation, since the Swedes blew up the towers during the Northern War, after which the fortress was slowly dismantled brick by brick. In the courtyard of the fortress there is a concert venue, a souvenir shop, a recreated forge, a well, and the Kumpyak tavern. The exhibitions are small and located in the towers. The experience of the visit will depend on expectations and imagination.

We drove from the city of Grodno to Moscow, and stopped in Lida (the city of Lida). Do you remember Lida kvass or beer, and it is this castle that is depicted on the label of these drinks. Overall, a very nice, clean, historical city with a legendary castle. At the entrance, we paid for a sightseeing tour of the castle, climbed the stairs inside the castle (on each floor there is an exhibition with exhibits from those times). Yes, of course the place is a tourist destination. If possible, it's worth a visit...The castle has been restored, there are very interesting exhibitions in the Gedemin tower, on the first two levels there are historical events on canvas and knight's armor, hunting trophies and furniture of the last/penultimate century. A collection of the history of postage stamps and pencils is now on display on the third and fourth floors. I recommend visiting, walking along the walls of the old castle fortress and mentally imagine yourself as a knight... Come on! At the exit, take a look at the Tavern if you miss out))

The road from Vileika (Minsk region) It took two hours to get to Lida by car. This highway is almost always free, the road is good. Along the way, you can admire wild animals walking in the field (roe deer, bison). There are enough parking spaces near the castle, it was quite free (in the courtyard). Next to the castle there is a picturesque pond, a cafe, a paid toilet (the territory is planless/clean, tidy/), souvenir shops work near the entrance. The ticket office is located in the courtyard. For schoolchildren, students, pensioners and those who have any benefits or discounts (do not forget your ID cards). There are several stickers with QR codes in each room. Actually, we didn't have time to see a lot of things standing in one place and listening to the guide. The buildings in the courtyard were examined almost at a run (there was also an object in the tour program), but those who wanted to buy souvenirs managed to do so. But still, the castle is considered the top attraction of the Republic of Belarus, which means it was worth a look.

As a result, a significant part of the not too large exposition remained unvisited. At the same time, for some reason this part is not on the site, so we don't even know what we missed.

Two towers have been preserved, they have a museum, the history of the city and the princes who founded the castle. There is a small interactive feature - you can take a picture in crowns at a table with dishes. Interesting on the gallery along the wall, beautiful views. There are persistent seagulls on the lake next to the castle, in short, they will haunt you for a long time after the lake))

We visited the castle for the first time thanks to the "Cars" event in August 2025. A beautiful small castle, somewhat resembled a scaled-down copy of a Mundane castle. Pleasant staff, reasonable prices, beautiful exposition. You can try on armor. It doesn't take much time to visit. The bonus was a free exhibition of landscapes of Belarus, very beautiful works.
