They say that the Hofbräuhaus is no longer just a restaurant, but a cultural monument, and this is true. Once inside, you seem to move through time: echoing vaults, long wooden tables, live music and an incredible atmosphere of universal brotherhood, where both a taxi driver and a businessman are sitting at the same table with you. The knuckle is magic. The skin is crispy, like the thinnest caramel fiberglass, and under it is such tender, melting meat that the knife, in fact, is needed only for the entourage. It's huge, honest, and polished to a shine with sauce. Sour cabbage perfectly sets off the fat content — it's a perfect balance. Excellent quality is not a big word. Beer flows freely here, but even after the third liter mug there is no heaviness. Waiters in blue aprons carry 5-6 mugs in each hand like robots — this is a separate circus act! Even if you've never sung Bavarian hits, by the end of the evening you'll be banging your mug on the table and shouting "Oans, zwoa, g'suffa!"
