Terms of Use for the Yandex Mail Service

1. General Provisions

1.1. This document (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms") establishes the terms of use for the Yandex Mail service (Mail) and constitutes an integral part of the General Terms of Use for Yandex 360 Services, posted at: https://yandex.com/legal/360_termsofuse (hereinafter referred to as the "General Terms").

By starting to use the Yandex Mail service/its individual functions, the User/Corporate Client shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and the General Terms in full, without any reservations and exceptions.

The current version of the Terms is always available on the Internet page at: https://yandex.com/legal/mail_termsofuse/.

In case of disagreement by the User/Corporate Client with any of the provisions of the specified documents, the User shall not be entitled to use the Yandex 360 services.

1.2. The unified rules and principles for the use of Yandex 360 services, provisions on intellectual property, personal data processing, and liability shall be governed by the General Terms, taking into account the specifics contained in these Terms.

2. Features of the Use of the Yandex Mail Service

2.1. Mail offers the User/Corporate Client the use of the Mail functionality to the extent depending on the settings defined by the User/Corporate Client, selected goals, and capabilities of the Mail, including the functionality of creating, drafting, sending, and receiving e-mails using an electronic mailbox, and performing other actions provided by the Mail. To exercise access rights to the Mail, the User/Corporate Client is entitled to use the web version of the Yandex Mail program, and to exercise access rights to the Mail via mobile devices — the Yandex Mail application for mobile devices (hereinafter referred to as the "Programs"). The use of the Yandex Mail application for mobile devices shall be governed by the License Agreement for the use of the Yandex Mail application for mobile devices https://yandex.ru/legal/mail_mobile_agreement.

2.2. For addressing purposes, the domains yandex.ru or ya.ru may be used for the User's electronic mailbox, and a different domain zone may also be assigned as part of the Mailbox address (including without limitation: .com, .kz, .by, etc.).

2.3. The contents of the User's electronic mailbox may be subject to archiving if the User has not used it for more than 24 months. Within 6 months after the archive is created, the User can access the Mailbox and its contents by logging in to the Mail and, following the instructions provided by the Mail, continue to use the Mailbox. If the User has not accessed the electronic mailbox after its archiving, the electronic mailbox can be deleted. Upon deletion of the electronic mailbox, all incoming and outgoing e-mails are also deleted.

2.4. The storage of files attached to correspondence received/sent using the electronic mailbox shall be carried out under the Terms of Use of the Yandex Disk service, available at: https://yandex.ru/legal/disk_termsofuse.

If the User/Corporate Client exceeds the limit of available disk storage space of the Yandex Disk service, the Mail functions may be restricted; in particular, sending or receiving correspondence with file attachments that exceed the volume of free disk storage space of the User/Corporate Client in the Disk may be suspended.

Furthermore, in case of blocking of the Disk on the grounds of these Terms, the User/Corporate Client may be unable to use certain functions of the Mail related to sending files attached to correspondence of 25 MB or more.

2.5. The Mail can provide the function of sending automatic notifications to the User about upcoming events, including planned flights, as well as the functionality of automatically adding those events to the Yandex Calendar. The operation of this function is fully automated and does not imply Yandex's access to the contents of the User's electronic mailbox. The User can independently configure this function.

2.6. The Service is intended solely for personal non-commercial use, except when the Service is used for commercial purposes under the relevant agreement.

2.7. Rights of paid and free access to the Program functions.

2.7.1. The following access rights, including to the following functions, may be provided to the User (individual) on a free of charge basis:

• use of the standard features of the Program by the Users;

• standard functions for storing files attached to correspondence received/sent using a Mailbox within the limits defined by the Terms of Use of the Yandex Disk service;

• the voice to text feature for a message with its subsequent conversion to a text format, as well as the function of sound reproduction of a message received in the Mailbox by converting a text message into an automatic voice recording using the functions of the Alice voice assistant, the terms of use of which are available at: https://yandex.ru/legal/alice_termsofuse. Yandex does not guarantee the accuracy, correctness, error-free operation of the function and recommends to additionally check the converted text before sending a message and check the original text with the sound reproduction.

• the ability to activate the Yandex.Messenger service feature provided under the Terms of Use of the Yandex.Messenger service posted at: https://yandex.ru/legal/messenger_termsofuse. The user can configure the settings for using the messenger and receiving messages therein in the interface of the Yandex.Messenger service.

• the ability to access the functionality of the Yandex.Telemost service, which is designed to organize and participate in a videoconference under the Terms of Use of Yandex.Telemost posted at: https://yandex.ru/legal/telemost_termsofuse.

2.7.2. On a fee basis, the User is provided with access rights to:

• advanced functions of the service under the terms of the corresponding license agreement, available at: https://yandex.ru/legal/promail_offer;

• advanced functions for storing files attached to correspondence received/sent using a Mailbox under the terms and conditions of the Terms of Use of the Yandex Disk service, available at: https://yandex.ru/legal/disk_termsofuse;

• functions of connecting a Family plan by providing access to the Program for members of the User's Family Account, created in accordance with the Terms of Use of the Yandex ID service (https://yandex.ru/legal/id_termsofuse);

• functions of using Mail on a domain for Corporate Clients;

• functions of the "Important Emails with Alice Pro" option, which summarizes important incoming emails using artificial intelligence technologies;

• functions of the "Summarize by Alice Pro" option, which provides summaries of individual emails using artificial intelligence technologies;

• functions of the "Alice Pro" program as a widget under the terms of the corresponding license agreement published at: https://yandex.ru/legal/aliceproagreement;

• other functions and programs, the terms of use for which may be governed by separate documents.

2.8. As part of the use of Mail on a domain for Corporate Clients, a full-featured version of the Mail with a web interface is provided at http://mail.yandex.ru/for/xyz.com (where xyz.com is the Corporate Client's domain) with all its capabilities, including POP3/IMAP/SMTP access available for each address at pop.yandex.ru/ imap.yandex.ru/ smtp.yandex.ru.

2.9. By activating the "Important Emails with Alice Pro" option, the User/Corporate Client understands and agrees that the determination of emails relevant to the User is carried out using a Yandex algorithm that automatically filters emails based on the actions of the User/employee of the Corporate Client in the electronic mailbox, such as marking an email as "important," reading an email, ignoring an email, and other similar actions. These parameters are analyzed automatically using computer algorithms.

The User is also informed and agrees that the summarization (brief outline) of emails may be displayed in the "Important Emails with Alice Pro" section of the electronic mailbox.

By using the "Important Emails with Alice Pro" option, the User/Corporate Client shall be deemed to have accepted the Terms of Use for generative artificial intelligence technologies of Yandex, available at: https://yandex.ru/legal/yagpt_termsofuse.

Yandex does not guarantee the display of emails and/or their summarization in the "Important Emails with Alice Pro" section, the operation of the service in accordance with the User's expectations, the accuracy, reliability, or correctness of email summarization, or the assessment of their relevance for the User.

2.10. By activating the "Summarize by Alice Pro" option, the User/Corporate Client is informed and agrees that the summarization of individual emails is carried out using artificial intelligence technologies.

By using the "Summarize by Alice Pro" option, the User/Corporate Client shall be deemed to have accepted the Terms of Use for generative artificial intelligence technologies of Yandex, available at: https://yandex.ru/legal/yagpt_termsofuse.

Yandex does not guarantee that the operation of the "Summarize by Alice Pro" option will meet the User's expectations, or the accuracy, reliability, or correctness of the summaries.

2.11. For the purposes of improving the quality of the Services or protecting electronic mailboxes from malicious programs contained in letters, unwanted letters, and spam, Yandex reserves the right to analyze letters in automatic mode using computer algorithms.

2.12. Any actions relating to viewing, changing, deletion, management of the electronic mailbox content are performed exclusively by the User/employee of the Corporate Client or by the Corporate Client at his/her own discretion. Actions relating to deleting the contents of the electronic mailbox may result in complete loss of the information without the possibility of its recovery.
