For Spanish version of this Cookie Policy, please, see here.
The Cookies Policy (“Policy”) applies in addition to the general Privacy Policy, which applies to products and services (“Services”) of Air Smart Advertising Solutions FZ-LLC or another legal entity providing the Services depending on the specifics of your relationship with Yandex Ads (“Yandex”). The policy describes the types of cookies, the purposes for which they are used and how you can refuse them.
1. What are cookies and what does Yandex use them for?
Cookies are small pieces of data with service information about visiting a site that the server sends to your device. Cookies remember information about your preferences and allow you to browse the sites you visit over a certain period of time in a more convenient way. For example, cookies allow the Services to offer you information in the language you typically use.
Yandex uses cookies to:
- help you remain logged in to the Services;
- improve the quality of your experience with the Services;
- show information that is priority for you;
- save your advertising preferences and safe search settings;
- display advertisements that may be of interest to you;
- analyze statistics on the use of the Services.
Based on the data obtained using cookies, Yandex develops the most useful functionality for the Services you use, conducts statistical and marketing research, corrects errors in the Services and tests new features to improve the performance of the Services, personalizes them and shows the information most relevant to you.
2. What cookies does Yandex use?
Yandex uses various types of cookies. The main task of using them is to ensure the convenience of your work with the Services, maintain a high level of security in their work, count the audience, help with payments, navigating through pages, etc. All Yandex cookies belong to one of the following types:
(i) Technical cookies that are necessary for the correct operation and provision of full functionality of the Services. Some of the most common technical cookies, for example, are yandex_uid or session_id. They are installed automatically and provide the ability for authentication and subsequent authorization in the Services. The secure_session_id cookies are used to authorize users and ensure the security of credentials when making payments.
(ii) Analytical and marketing cookies that allow:
- recognize users, count their number and collect information, such as transactions performed, pages visited and views on the Services;
- identify your hardware or software, such as browser type or device (using the device_id cookie);
- collect information about how you interact with the Services, such as whether a service or product is purchased;
- ensure the relevance of advertising, increase the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
(iii) Other cookies perform various service functions and make working with Yandex websites and services more convenient. These files help to remember the state of the page, select a region (for example, using the yandex_gid cookie), save personal preferences, for example, such custom site elements as text size, font (for example, using the font_loaded cookie) and so on.
Yandex may use web beacons (pixel tags) to access cookies previously placed on your device. Their use is necessary to analyze your actions when working with the Services by accessing and using cookies stored on your device to collect statistics about the operation of the Services themselves or Yandex products and utilities.
Yandex also uses Y-cookies - containers that contain multiple values. For example, a cookie container named ys stores portal data for the duration of the session (that is, until you close the page or browser window). Y-cookies reduce the number of cookies processed by your browser and provide improved page loading performance, including faster page loading times.
The web analytics tool Yandex.Metrica, which is used by Yandex, allows you to collect anonymized information about traffic sources, site traffic and evaluate the effectiveness of advertising. To record visitors, Yandex.Metrica uses anonymous browser identifiers, which are stored in cookies. More information about Yandex.Metrica cookies can be found at https://yandex.ru/support/metrica/general/cookie-usage.html.
The Google Analytics web analytics tool, which is used by Yandex, allows you to collect anonymized information about traffic sources, site traffic and evaluate the effectiveness of advertising. To count visitors, Google Analytics uses anonymous browser identifiers, which are stored in cookies. You can read more about Google Analytics cookies at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=en-US.
Disabling some of these types of cookies may prevent you from using certain areas or features of the Services. For example, access to sections of the Services that require authorization is provided by technical cookies, and without their use the site may not function correctly.
3. How long are cookies stored on your device?
Yandex uses session cookies to make it more convenient for you to work with the Services. For example, using the cookie_check cookie, your authorization data in the Services is remembered and when you move to another domain zone, you no longer need to go through the authorization process again. Session cookies expire at the end of the session (when you close the page or browser window).
Yandex may also use cookies that last longer, for example, to remember your preferences on the Services, such as language or location. The storage period depends on the type of cookies. Such cookies will be automatically deleted after they have served their purpose.
Yandex uses the information contained in cookies within the terms and conditions specified in this Policy, as well as in the Privacy Policy.
4. Cookie management
When you first visit the Services, you may be asked in a pop-up window (or through another technical solution) to select the types of cookies that will be stored on your device. However, technical cookies are installed automatically when the page is loaded, unless otherwise specified in the browser settings. If you have approved the use of cookies, but then want to change your decision, you can do this yourself by deleting the saved files in your browser.
You can also change the settings for displaying personalized advertising or disable such advertising using the functionality located at: https://yandex.ru/tune/adv.
Yandex does not require mandatory consent to install cookies on your device when using the Services. If you do not want cookies to be stored on your device, please disable this option in your browser settings. Stored cookies can also be deleted at any time in your browser system settings. You can change your browser settings to accept or reject by default all cookies or cookies from certain sites, including Yandex Services. You can find out more about ways to manage cookies in the Yandex browser at https://browser.yandex.ru/help/personal-data-protection/cookies.html.
If you have approved the use of cookies on one of the Yandex services, this will mean that such consent has been given by you to the use of cookies on all Yandex Services.
5. Who, besides Yandex, has access to the information contained in cookies
Information that is collected using cookies placed on your device is stored in accordance with applicable law in accordance with the terms of sections 4-6 of the Privacy Policy: https://yandex.com/legal/international_ads_privacy/?lang=en
Yandex partners may also collect information about users using cookies or pixel tags as part of the use of the Services. The use of cookies and other technologies allows Yandex and its partners to analyze activity when using the Services, counting the number of visits or displaying advertising tailored to the Services.
Information collected through cookies placed on your device may be transferred to and available to Yandex and/or partners under the terms of the Privacy Policy. Use of collected information outside of the Services may be subject to separate user agreements available on partner websites. Yandex and/or partners may also provide you with the opportunity to opt-out of advertising personalization, subject to the laws and regulations applicable to such products and offers.
