Tooling Engineer (Shenzhen, China)
Yandex Market is searching for an experienced Tooling Engineer for its R&D team in Shenzhen to design, develop, and maintain tools and equipment for manufacturing processes. In this role, you will work closely with internal design and engineering teams and external suppliers to deliver high-quality tooling solutions for consumer electronics.
Tasks that await you
Leading DFM/DFX reviews and mold design
You will drive DFM/DFX reviews with ID, ME, EE, and reliability teams, and translate CPK-driven product specifications into robust mold architectures.

Managing mold specifications and simulation
You will review and release mold specification packages, run Moldflow simulation, and perform DOE optimization to improve accuracy and consistency.
Overseeing suppliers and fabrication
You will select and audit tool suppliers, lead technical discussions, and monitor tooling fabrication progress.
Supporting cost review and approval
You will review mold pricing, support price negotiation, lead supplier design reviews (T0–T3), perform root-cause analysis, and review and approve tooling.
Defining validation protocols
You will define and execute IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and support plastic sample approval.
Managing tooling assets and documentation
You will build and manage the internal tooling database, monitor tooling status, perform periodic audits, and initiate copy tools as needed.
We expect that you
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, plastics, or materials engineering
- Are fluent in English and Chinese
- Have 8–12 years of experience in high-precision plastic injection mold design and development, including at least 3 years in consumer electronics
- Are an expert in UG NX 12.0+ or Creo 8.0+ for 3D mold design and 2D detailing
- Are certified in Moldflow 2023 with mastery in DOE and warpage analysis
- Have experience managing multiple suppliers
- Possess deep knowledge of tool steels and surface coatings
- Have strong statistical capabilities: GR&R, CPK/PPK, MSA, FMEA, and APQP/PPAP
