Senior Backend Developer at Yandex.Drivematics
Yandex.Drivematics is a management system for vehicle fleets, a new Yandex startup that is applying the lessons we’ve learned working on Yandex.Drive.

Having our own telematics, multicomponent fleet management system, and mobile apps means we can optimize clients ranging from small regional rental services to major international companies with tens of thousands of cars. We’ve already gotten off to a good start in the EU and CIS.

Yandex.Drivematics helps clients:

  • monitor driver behavior and car conditions to minimize accidents;
  • organize real-time fleet monitoring;
  • ensure vehicle safety with services like detecting illegal drivers using digital fingerprints and keeping an eye out for fuel draining;
  • provide keyless car control.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to develop components for Yandex.Drivematics. While we don’t have a legacy or complex organizational structure, you can handle a significant chunk of the service and ensure success for the business as a whole. Join us if you’ve always wanted to work for a startup that’s stable and offers all the benefits of a big IT company.

Tasks that await you

  • build a distributed infrastructure for an international product that can be hosted both at Yandex data centers and in third-party clouds;
  • implement a scalable pipeline for processing hundreds of thousands of signals from tens of thousands of machines in real time (for example, to detect aggressive driving, identify critical car conditions, and otherwise perform deep fleet monitoring);
  • design an API for integration with client and third-party systems;
  • be a technical leader responsible for a significant part of the service.

We expect that you

  • know and understand C++, STL, classic algorithms, and data structures;
  • understand the basic principles of how to work with multithreaded programs;
  • know SQL;
  • be able to make decisions and take projects through to the finish line.

It'd be a plus if you

  • developed software for Unix or Linux;
  • worked with high-load systems;
  • worked with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis;
  • can design architectures in distributed systems;
  • know Python.

Our benefits

  • offices in Prague and Moscow, relocation assistance;
  • a team that built one of the largest and most successful carsharing services in the world;
  • the opportunity to impact the process and result;
  • an options program;
  • review-based bonuses every six months;
  • meal compensation;
  • flexible work schedule.
Thank you for your apply!

We will contact you within a week.
