Tasks that await you
You will create 3D concepts, drawings, and specifications for packaging solutions, focusing on durability, reliability, and ergonomics. You’ll also optimize packaging structures for specific production methods and materials.
Select materials and technologies
You will analyze and select raw materials based on durability, sustainability, and cost-efficiency. You’ll also propose alternative materials or designs to reduce costs and improve logistical parameters, such as weight, size, and protection during transportation.
Test and validate designs
You will participate in prototyping, conduct strength tests, and assess resistance to external impacts, ensuring ease of unboxing for end-users. You’ll refine designs based on test results to improve the final product.
Collaborate with factories and contractors
You will work with manufacturing facilities (including in China) to discuss technical requirements, implement improvements, and oversee quality standards, timelines, and budgets during mass production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
You will work closely with the industrial design team, product managers, logistics specialists, marketing teams, and other stakeholders. You’ll also participate in brainstorming sessions, working meetings, and solution presentations.
We expect that you
- Have 3+ years of experience in structural packaging design for consumer electronics, home appliances, or related fields
- Possess deep knowledge of structural packaging design, including strength calculations, material selection, and logistical considerations
- Are proficient in CAD software, 3D modeling, and graphic tools for visualization and prototyping
- Understand manufacturing processes, printing methods, and production limitations for mass packaging
- Are fluent in English (Upper-Intermediate) and Chinese (HSK 4) for communication with international contractors and suppliers
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Are detail-oriented and focused on improving user experience
- Reside in Shenzhen, China
It'd be a plus if you
- Have experience working with production facilities in China or other Asian countries
- Are familiar with regional packaging regulations (environmental standards, labeling requirements)
- Have implemented innovative materials or technologies in packaging design
