Legal Counsel (Marketing and AdTech)
We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team and provide legal support for Yandex’s international commercial and AdTech projects. This role will cover multiple regions, including CIS, LATAM, MENAT, and APAC, requiring expertise in advertising law, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration to help guide Yandex’s marketing and advertising initiatives.
Tasks that await you
Contract management
You will draft and negotiate contracts with clients and partners.

Advertising law compliance
You will research advertising regulations across various countries, prepare guidelines, and establish advertising moderation rules.
Legal advisory
You will advise colleagues on civil, advertising, administrative, antitrust, and personal data protection laws.
Advertising review
You will review and approve advertising materials and marketing activities.
External counsel coordination
You will collaborate with outside counsel in different jurisdictions.
We expect that you
- Hold a law degree
- Have strong knowledge of civil, advertising, IP, and data protection laws
- Have 3+ years of experience in advertising, e-commerce or online services, with at least 1 year in a similar role
- Understand various contract types (service, agency, commission agreements) and are meticulous with legal documents
- Are fluent in English, with the ability to manage tasks, communicate with clients, and coordinate with colleagues entirely in English
- Can handle tasks with multiple priorities and various focuses
- Are motivated to dive deep into the specifics of business and technology and willing to explore new areas that may be unconventional for legal professionals
Preferred qualifications
- Have knowledge of international law and experience with foreign jurisdictions
- Are familiar with AdTech
- Have experience working with distributed teams, including non-Russian-speaking colleagues, and conducting negotiations in English
