In a nutshell, you will be the COO for a local startup in a new country. The Head of Operations will not be making that journey alone, as your direct reports will include local professionals as well as other local and HQ team members. You will report directly to the country manager.

• Lead the operations unit and guide them to excellence
• Work with sales managers to identify key operational needs for customers and design their preferred solution
• Work with back-office functions to identify key points of inefficiency and join forces with local and international teams to drive solutions into reality
• Initiate and lead short- and long-term work plans to achieve optimal operational performance and the most efficient infrastructure for scaling our business
• Monitor service quality and proactively identify the causes of operational deviations associated with courier and partner company performance
• Analyze incidents and operational flaws with the support service and product lead
• Propose and help implement measures to improve efficiency
• Develop personal connections and maintain business relationships with couriers and subcontractor companies, serving as their main contact person
• Understand courier behavior, pain points, motivation, and challenges, building trust and engagement both via field research and data-based analytics
• Coordinate product implementation (operational process deployment or product launches)
• Help design and implement terms and cooperation schemes that we build with partners and couriers

• Have experience building a team from scratch and subsequently leading it, inspiring people and winning their trust
• Have a deep understanding of the complexity of managing marketplace supply
• Have experience working with couriers, ability to identify their problems, understanding of the nuances of their work, and ability to adapt to frequent changes
• Have flawless communication skills, both written and oral
• Understand unit economics, technology-driven marketplaces, operational efficiency, marketing, and finance
• Employ a strong can-do approach with a structured and process-guided personality
• Have an entrepreneurial spirit and preference for start-up environments over corporate structures
• Use a data-driven approach to decision-making and have a strong comfort level with analytics and the ability to see the story behind the numbers
• Are fluent in both the local language and English

• Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• Have 5+ years of experience in supply operations in a dynamic work environment
• Are experienced in the last-mile delivery market
• Have experience working in a tech field
