# History of changes to the API

The current version of the Yandex Weather API is v2 and v3.

**Address for sending requests to v2:**

#### November 2019

New API version (v2).

Possible values changed for the following response fields:
- [fact.condition](https://yandex.com/dev/weather/doc/en/concepts/forecast-info.md#fact) and [forecast.condition](https://yandex.com/dev/weather/doc/en/concepts/forecast-info.md#forecasts) for the “Yandex Weather on your site” and “Test” rates.
- [forecast.moon_text](https://yandex.com/dev/weather/doc/en/concepts/forecast-info.md#moon-code) for the “Yandex Weather on your site” and “Test” rates.
- [fact.prec_type](forecast-test#fact) and [forecast.prec_type](forecast-test#forecast) for the “Test” rate.

New API version (v3).

The interaction protocol has been completely redesigned and replaced from REST to Graphql.

[*aqi]:
 
Air quality index (AQI).

[*iaqi]:
 
The individual AQI for a specific pollutant.

You can request multiple values of this field, using following syntax:
 
`coIAQI: iaqi(pollutant: CO)`
 
**Possible values:** `[0, 500]`

[*dominant]:
 
The pollutant that makes the greatest contribution to the calculation of AQI.
You can assume that `aqi` is the IAQI of this pollutant.

[*co]:
 
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, highly poisonous, odorless,
tasteless, flammable gas that is slightly less dense than air.

[*density]:
 
The density of air or atmospheric density,
is the mass per unit volume of Earth's atmosphere.
 
**Units:** `kg⋅m⁻³`
**Possible values:** `[0, +Infinity)`

[*no2]:
 
The major sources of anthropogenic emissions of NO2 are
combustion processes (heating, power generation, and engines in vehicles and ships).

[*o3]:
 
Ground-level ozone (O3), also known as surface-level ozone and
tropospheric ozone, is a trace gas in the troposphere.

PM10 is a suspended large solid particles,
with a diameter of 10 micrometers (microns) or less.

PM2.5 is a fine particulate matter,
with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers (microns) or less.

SO2 is a colorless gas with a pungent odor,
which is formed during the burning of fossil fuels
and the melting of mineral ores containing sulfur.

[*dewPoint]:
 
The dew point value in the shade
at a height of 2 meters from the ground surface.

[*leafWetnessIndex]:
 
Indicates whether there is moisture on leaves (`true`) or not (`false`).
This value is calculated based on factors such as precipitation,
air temperature, surface temperature, and dew point.

[*dustStormStrength]:
 
Strength of a duststorm. Based on wind speed and
amount of dust particles in the atmosphere.

[*seaCurrentSpeed]:
 
Sea current speed.

[*waveHeight]:
 
Significant height of combined wind waves and swell surface.
 
**Units:** `m`
**Possible values:** `[0, +Infinity)`

[*wavePeriod]:
 
Primary wave mean period surface.

**Possible values:** `[0, +Infinity)`

[*solarIrradiation]:
 
Average direct solar irradiation on the horizontal plane

Cloud cover [%] at the closest to the given height (in meters). Use `height: 0` if you need total cloud cover.

[*temperatureOnHeight]:
 
The temperature value in the closest to this height (in meters) above the surface of the earth.

[*windAngleOnHeight]:
 
The angle of the wind direction in degrees in the closest to this height (in meters) above the surface of the earth.
