Yandex Opens Sales Office in Russia’s Southern Region

Internet, May 23, 2011. Yandex opens a sales office in Rostov-on-Don. The new sales branch will focus on promoting Yandex’s advertising products in the southern regions of Russia, while working closely with the local advertising agencies and clients.

Advertisers in the Southern Federal Region and in the North Caucasian Federal Region can now buy Yandex ads from the Rostov-on-Don sales office or from the local partners. Currently, Yandex partners with over a hundred advertising agencies in the South. To reach every potential advertising client in the region, the company assists its partners in all possible ways in attracting new customers and promoting contextual and banner advertising. The company’s partner agencies will be provided with free training sessions and tutorials for the staff. The first large open seminar for advertisers and agencies in the region will take place tomorrow, May 24th.

“We have already opened a few regional sales offices across Russia. And, we are positive now that working with clients and partners right on site is much more efficient than doing it from a distance. Having a local sales office allows us educate every client about the advantages of online advertising, learn about regional features and help our clients tailor their campaigns to the local market,” says Lidia Tretyakova, head of Regional Development at Yandex.

According to the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM), as of winter 2010/11, the monthly internet audience in the Southern and the North Caucasian Federal Regions was 6.9 million, up 25% year-over-year. At this internet development level and this internet growth rate, online adverting becomes an effective channel of distribution in the region.
