Yandex Gives Companies Opportunity to Tell More About Themselves

Internet, February 11, 2010. Yandex has made it possible for companies and organizations to add or edit their contact details and other information to the text displayed next to the link to their website in the search results. Using the Yandex.Webmaster service, a company or a business can now include its address and telephone number in the company description in search results, and provide more information to be shown on a company’s business card on Yandex.Maps.
To add or edit information using Yandex.Webmaster, any company or organization — be it a bank, a laundry or a governmental agency – should only register its website with the service. If a company does not have a website yet, they can create a web page at Yandex’s free web hosting service Narod, or just add their company to Business search directory on Yandex.Maps.
“The Webmaster service has been in beta testing for two months,” says Natalia Pleshkova, Project Manager. “And now we are rolling it out for everyone. Web users can now see a company’s address and telephone number instantly right in the search results, and companies now have a better chance of receiving phone calls from interested customers”.
Currently, Yandex.Webmaster has 1,380 categories with the most popular of them featuring an option to add more information, such as number of rooms or distance to beach for a hotel, or number of lanes or availability of kids bowling equipment for a bowling center. Yandex.Webmaster allows website owners to monitor indexing of their website on Yandex, helps to improve the way a website appears in the search results, and notifies about infected web pages. The Yandex.Webmaster service has a daily audience of about 55,000.
