Internet, July 2, 2009. Yandex launches beta version of Punto Switcher for Mac OS X. Having installed the company’s automated keyboard layout switcher, Apple computers owners can forget about what alphabet, Cyrillic or Latin, they are using.

"Lately, the Mac OS X operating system has been becoming more and more popular with regular users as well as with professionals,” says Alexander Bykov, head of the desktop applications development at Yandex. “We are receiving a lot of customer requests about a version of Punto Switcher for Mac OS Х. We can also see users often asking about it online, and what we do is answer the demand.”

The main functionality of the Punto Switcher for Mac OS X version is similar to its version for Windows – it automatically switches keyboard layout from Russian to English and back, changes language layout for selected text, etc.

Punto Switcher for Mac OS X is available for free download at http://punto.yandex.ru/mac/.

In addition to this version, Punto Switcher for Windows 98/2000 and Windows XP/Vista is also available. Currently, the program has a user base of about 2.7 million and counting.
