Local Trains on Yandex.Timetable

Internet, April 29, 2009. Summer is coming and soon pallid urbanites will start flocking to the countryside. For the start of the summer season, Yandex has made a timetable of local trains in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Veliky Novgorod, Tyumen and Nizhny Tagil.

Now, before going out of town, people can use the Yandex.Timetable service to plan their trip. For instance, see train times for a Moscow-Petushki journey or for a trip from Saint Petersburg to Detskoe Selo. They do not have to worry about trains on a route that may pass through the destination station without stopping there, the Yandex.Timetable service shows only trains that do stop at a chosen station. The service also informs about changes in train times, so that passengers wouldn’t have to waste time waiting on the platform.

Yandex.Timetable is accessible both from PCs and from mobile devices. At m.ya.ru/rasp (in Russian), web users can find out when the next train is and if it’s time to hurry to the station or if it’s already too late. Weekenders wishing to stay out of town till Monday can study the week timetable and decide when they should leave their country home to be back in the office on time.

Local rail timetable information is provided by Northwest Suburban Passenger Company, Central Suburban Passenger Company and Sverdlovsk Suburban Company.
