In its development strategy for the future, Yandex.Direct is focusing on providing advertisers with a convenient and effective tool for managing their ad campaigns. On one hand, this involves ample opportunities for automation, using Yandex algorithms that save time on routine tasks while delivering high-quality results. On the other hand, access to more advanced settings is available to advertisers looking to manage their ad campaigns more independently using statistical data and guided by their own experience. The decision for Yandex.Direct to bring back previous settings for YAN host sites was made with this latter group in mind.
You can find detailed information on how to prepare for the launch and increase the effectiveness of your ad purchasing in the Yandex Advertising Network below.
How to maximize conversions at the right price without losing target traffic
1. Save time on routine tasks with automation
By using a conversion optimization strategy, there's no need to regularly check the list of sites where your ads appear. Yandex.Direct algorithms will make sure the sites where your ads appear are in line with your campaign goals and will automatically eliminate ineffective ones. By switching to a pay-per-conversion model, you will only have to pay for conversions.
2. Remove sites from the blocked list to keep clicks and conversions at the usual level
If you currently have Yandex sites included in your list of blocked sites, impressions on them will come to a stop on February 10, which will affect your statistics. If you decide in the end to not block impressions on Yandex sites, you can avoid having to fix each campaign manually — a special window in the interface will allow you to click to remove Yandex sites from the list of banned sites and leave your campaigns as they were before February 10.
3. Check your statistics in advance and update the blocked site list to manage sites manually
You can block sites directly from the Sites report by analyzing the conversion indicators: the number of conversions, their average cost, the return on spend and the fluctuations in these numbers. On the Statistics page in the Sites report, select sites and disable them in the “Action” drop-down list. Such statistics usually take three to four weeks of active impressions in ad networks to accumulate.
Keep in mind that each campaign is unique. As you go about analyzing the quality of different sites, be sure to base your conclusions on reliable data — this will help avoid missing out on your target audience and valuable conversions.
